Minimum Jeepney Fare Returns To P8.00

The minimum jeepney fare returns to P8.00 after the roll back in the price of gasoline and diesel. With the price drop, the LTFRB also dismissed the petition for a Php2.00 fare increase.

The Land Transportation Franchising & Regulatory Board (LTFRB) issued a recall on the provisional increase of fifty centavos that started on March 2012 (Read the previous post about the provisional 50 centavos increase here).

“Part of our condition is to recall the 50-centavo provisional fare hike once diesel prices drops to P45 per liter,” said LTFRB board member Atty. Manuel Iway.

Price of Diesel

Diesel is now priced at around P44.00 per liter. According to the LTFRB, the price of diesel is likely to drop in the upcoming weeks.

Tip For Commuters

Some of the jeepney drivers still stick with the P8.50 minimum fare. If you faced such kind of driver, talk about the recent roll back in the jeepney fare.

Effective Starting

Tuesday, May 15,2012

If the price of diesel returns to P48.00, the LTFRB will again raise the minimum fare to P8.50.

Mall of Asia Arena is an indoor arena being constructed and located in Pasay, Philippines within the SM Mall of Asia Complex. It is expected to have a seating capacity of 16,000 for sporting events and will open on May 19, 2012. It is also expected to have a full-house capacity of 20,000, which is 5,000 more than the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

It is expected to be the new home of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

The Mall of Asia Arena, which boasts of retractable seats and a 2,000-capacity car park building, is expected to rival the fabled Smart Araneta Coliseum.
